Karl D. Salnoske is vice president and chief information officer of
Schering-Plough Corporation.
Salnoske is responsible for directing the planning, acquisition, development
and operation of computer, telecommunication and information systems
for all corporate and divisional offices. He is also responsible for
establishing the technical infrastructure and setting strategic guidelines
for use of information systems technology throughout the company.
Salnoske joined the company in November 2004 from Adaptive Trade,
where he was president and chief executive officer. Prior to this position,
he served as general manager, software solutions, and as vice president,
global services, at IBM. Throughout his career, Salnoske has held leadership
positions with increasing responsibility at McKinsey & Co., Telenet,
Xerox and Exxon.
Salnoske holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia
Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va., where he serves on the advisory
board for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
